Late last night, I came across a heartbreaking video. The images were so painful to watch that I cannot bring myself to share them here.
The story tells of a little dog abandoned by its owner after moving away. Yet, without a trace of resentment, the dog remained near its former home — standing by the same street corner day after day, rain or shine — with only one humble wish: to wait for its owner to return and take it home.
That wait lasted more than ten years. The owner had long forgotten, but the once lively and adorable puppy had grown old and frail, its eyes clouded with age. Years of waiting outdoors had left its body exhausted and weak, but still it would not leave its post.
Kind-hearted passersby and nearby residents tried to adopt and care for it. Yet each time someone took it home to wash and feed it, the dog escaped and ran back to the same spot. In its weary eyes was a quiet fear — that even a brief absence might cause it to miss the moment its owner came back. Through all those years, it never stopped waiting, never complained, never gave up. Its loyalty and love were boundless — pure, unwavering, and deeply moving.
I have always believed that though animals and humans differ in form, they share the same capacity for thought and emotion. In a complicated human world filled with calculation and ambition, these small creatures hold no malice — only sincerity and unconditional devotion to their companions.
Animals are equal to humans. They are part of our family — silent companions who fill our lives with warmth and laughter. They may not speak, but their hearts and actions express love more purely than words ever could. Their souls are innocent and kind; they are angels granted to us by heaven, not toys to be discarded at will.
When a person decides to keep a pet, they must first ask themselves:
Do I have the time and ability to truly care for it?
Can I provide it with joy and comfort?
Will I stay by its side through its entire life — even when it grows old, sick, and fragile?
And when its energy fades and it can no longer play or please, will I still protect and cherish it instead of abandoning it?
If the answer to any of these is no, then do not bring an animal into your life — for it, too, is a living being with flesh, blood, emotion, and love, just like you.
Gentle and timid dogs deserve even greater compassion. They depend on their owners and should never be confined to cages for long periods. Imagine the pain of being trapped in a small cage day and night — no living creature deserves that. Give them freedom at home, a cozy corner to rest, and the space to move about freely.
When your dog seeks to sleep beside you, do not push it away. Holding its warm, furry body close gives it a deep sense of safety and belonging.
Small dogs are especially sensitive to thunder and loud noises. What sounds normal to us can be overwhelming to them — thunder and rain reverberate in their small hearts like crashing drums. In those moments, do not scold or ignore their trembling; instead, comfort them gently, letting them know they are not alone.
Animals are angels that heal the human soul. Every pet that enters our lives is a blessing. When we choose to become their family, we also accept the lifelong duty to care for them — to ensure they are well-fed, healthy, happy, and loved until the very end. To them, there is only one home, one master, one love — an eternal devotion that never fades.
These little angels ask for so little — a safe shelter, a bowl of food — and in return, they offer us everything, even their lives, without fear or hesitation.
Please, do not let their tears fall in vain. Do not harm their fragile bodies or innocent hearts. Treat every animal with kindness, for they are humanity’s most loyal companions and dearest family members. Their lives are as precious as diamonds, and they, too, deserve to be loved.
May there be fewer abandoned animals in this world, and more people with compassion and responsibility.
May every lonely soul with fur find a gentle hand, a warm home, and a love that never lets them tremble, fear, or break again.
